Inspiration

I recently got a job at a small Aeroplane company even though my profession has little to do with Aeroplanes.  A childhood fascination with aeroplanes was rekinled so I start googling my favorite aeroplanes and watching a few youtube videos.

Interspersed with documentaries on airliners and war planes are some RC plane videos.  One of them is a "flite test" video about building aeroplanes from foam board...

Then I had one of those moments.  My mind wanders back to a childhood memory.  My father building a balsa wood glider for me (8 year old me making a dogs breakfast of it first) and throwing it around for hours and hours until it was entirely cactus.  After that, I guilt tripped my parents into buying me an Aeroflyte Condor when I was about 10.  It sat in the cupboard a couple of year until it crashed on it's first flight.  My father is a train man and was not motivated to fix it and by that time computers had all my attention.  Aeroflyte, a Toyworld institution in the 80s and 90s.  The following video is all I could find about it on the internet.
